FCHS Record Holdings
The Fulton County Historical Society maintains a research library. Main holdings include old newspapers, city directories for Johnstown and Gloversville, cemetery records compiled by Dave Bixby, and more.
The FCHS does have a very small holding of genealogical files, but this collection is not extensive. Vital records are held in the municipality where a birth, death, or marriage occurred. The FCHS does not have copies of vital records.
Researching at the FCHS
Those interested in viewing records maintained by the historical society should contact Samantha Hall-Saladino at ssaladino@fultoncountyhistoricalsociety.org or 518-725-2203 prior to their visit. Please include the records you are seeking, along with any names and dates. It is strongly suggested that researchers make an appointment prior to their visit to ensure that the records are available.
